Fix Me

She’s a sparrow with a broken wing all she needs is a little tender loving care so I sit with her and I blend with her. I do my best to end her despair.

She says fix me I’m broken as she holds out her hands to me.

I place her hands in mine and give her the support that I feel she needs but still she’s weary and the tears they still fall.

I hold her to consol her and I give her my all.

She says fix me I’m broken and she lies in my arms but when the night breaks her heart still aches as we enter into the dawn.

Through the morning hours I stay with her; try to rebuild her by consuming all of her pain but by night fall she doesn’t want to be alone and I try all over again.

She says fix me I’m broken you promised me here you would stand.

I tell her I’ve given and I’ve given but I’m only a man.

I said I want to help you through the healing process by being a supportive friend but I can’t fix you nor can I heal you.

Healing must start from within.

You’re not broken you’ve become dependent on excuses to deny yourself.

I realize now I just enabled you to put your blame on someone else.

Darling I can’t fix you. What I can do and will do is hold you, support you, encourage you to be the person you want to be but you have to do the work before there can be a rebirth .

Walk in faith and try to understand that what comes easy is less than what it’s worth.

You have to believe in you, strive for you live for you. You can start by taking your life down from this shelf.

Through the passage of time, love and support at your side with each courageous step you will indeed come to find that you have fixed yourself.
